As designers we love evolving ideas and exploring new product ranges but our design heads must stay strong and remain focused on creating timeless buildings and interiors which don’t fall foul of passing trends.
Below we show you our selected trends from 2017 and explore how you can play with evolving fashions, without appearing dated before you know it!
THE TREND
The key to timeless design and interior design is to take a considered and delicate approach towards style, built form and product selection. A neutral palette is a great starting point, helping you to create a timeless canvas which can be complimented with furnishings, lighting and textiles or planting which may reflect your current mood however can be interchanged as time moves on.
MATTE BLACK IS THE NEW BLACK
Matte Black is the texture now trending in 2017 and you can expect it to stick around for a while yet! You really cannot escape fixtures, fittings, appliances and finishes appearing in Matte Black all around you. We love this trend! The popular matte texture is born of a very natural palette and can be used as a subtle and sophisticated background coloring or as a highly contrasting feature statement to a white setting.
THE EXQUISITE
This beautiful modern marble powder room is a fine example of a striking Matte Black infused bathroom which used it’s a light pallet, simple detailing and strong crisp lines to provide a timeless base.
